Many of the projects are similar in that they are designed around existing trees and natural features. Great care was taken for these projects to preserve trees and to convert "eyesore" borrow pits and stagnant ponds to attractive features, with the result that the communities are in high demand and a part of the neighborhood was revitalized.
Commercial
Yan Seiner was the primary designer in charge of the Moss Creek Clubhouse site design. The club design was so successful that the architect requested Cardinal Engineers also design the pavilion site, a smaller companion structure located some distance away.
The Clubhouse is the flagship structure in the Moss Creek Planned Unit Development, comprising some 3,000 residential lots and two golf courses. The Pavilion is a smaller, less formal structure suitable for casual engagements.
Both the Clubhouse and the Pavilion are redevelopments. The existing structures were demolished and new buildings were built in their place. Both are located on the marsh and have specimen trees on site. Great care was taken to preserve the views and to mitigate the impact of the construction on the environment. The pavilion in particular is nestled among four live oaks, the smallest of which is some 30" in diameter. Careful design and construction ensured the survival of these specimen trees during and after construction.
Apartments and Multi-Family Residential
Cardinal Engineers has extensive experience with site development design of various types of multi-family residential projects. Our list of projects includes large affordable housing apartment projects, assisted-living housing and high end, luxury apartments and condominiums. We work closely, as design team members, with architects and landscape architects to provide attractive site designs that meet local, state and federal zoning and development ordinances balanced with environmental concerns and tree preservation.
